To become a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) you require an undergraduate degree and 4 years of training at an accredited college like the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Naturopathic Doctors are trained as primary health care providers, with education in medical sciences, naturopathic principles, therapeutics and modalities as well as 1200 hours of supervised clinical experience. To obtain a license as a board certified Naturopathic Doctor, graduates must pass two sets of licensing exams (NPLEX) and a provincial board examination. Ongoing continuing education is also required.
